One of the Boys Has Fallen

One of our boys has fallen.

He walks the earth no more.
He heard his Master calling
Across that distant shore.

He left us with no warning.
He's now in heaven's care.
We've placed a wreath of mourning
Upon his empty chair.

We come before you humbled.
With bended knee we pray.
For one of us has stumbled;
A 'Son' has gone away.

We had a bond of kinship
That few can understand.
It goes deeper than friendship.
He was a 13th man.
