Compatriots,

The intent of this correspondence is to advise you, as current members of the Ben Caudill Camp #1629, of a proposal regarding a possible quorum change to our Constitution.  The Constitution and Bylaws can be viewed at the www.bencaudill.com website or we will be glad to email you a copy of said document.  The purpose is to allow the camp to conduct meetings in a timely fashion.

At the regular camp meeting held in March 2008, (February was cancelled due to weather conditions), a recommendation was placed on the floor to change the quorum from twelve (12) (as stipulated under Article VI, Section 6) to a quorum of ten (10).  As stipulated under Article XIV (Amendments) of our Constitution, “A vote may be taken upon the proposed amendment, provided a copy of the intended amendment has been sent to each Camp member in good standing, by Unites States Mail, at least 10 (10) days prior to the meeting.  A two-thirds (2/3) vote of the members present (quorum required), will be necessary to pass or reject” in a good faith effort of affording each member an opportunity to voice his opinion.

Currently, the Article reads as follows:  ARTICLE IV, Section 4.  Quorum. Twelve (12) members of the Camp entitled to vote shall constitute a quorum at any meeting.

The change would read as follows:  ARTICLE IV, Section 4.  Quorum.  Ten (10) members of the Camp entitled to vote shall constitute a quorum at any meeting.

YOU are a valued member of the camp and if you have any comments, suggestions or thoughts, feel free to contact any of the officers or members and we shall be your proxy.  With Sacred Principles to Maintain,

We Remain Your Obedient Servants,

The Officers of the Ben Caudill Camp #1629
