![]() Mrs Pauline Cantrell is an honorary member of the Ben Caudill Camp effective August 2005. She is the descendent of Private William Bryan Isbell, William Bryan Isbell that served in the 32nd Tennessee. William Isbell was said to have carried rocks in his pockets to ward off anyone who attempted to harass him. He fought in several battles including Ft. Donelson, Missionary Ridge and was later wounded and captured.
Mrs Cantrell is the widow of Atchie Cantrell and is the mother of SCV members Harold Cantrell (deseased) and Kenneth Cantrell. Mrs Cantrell braved the mid-day heat and graced our gathering for the dedication of the Brothers Once More monument on August 14. She was wearing her Battle-Flag Dress. She was presented with a special plaque by Commander David Chaltas, portraying General Lee, and Paul Taubee of Hazard, portraying a Union Colonel. |
