Jack May is the Great Grandson of Private Russell Cornett of Company B, 10th Mounted Rifles, CSA. His maternal Great Grand Uncle, Private John J. Amburgey, also served the Cause in Company B, 10th Mounted Rifles (13th Cavalry, CSA). Colonel Benjamin E. Caudill is his double-first cousin several times removed.

Jack is a veteran; he began his service at West Point and was an infantry platoon leader with the 82nd Airborne. After completing his service he returned home and built a buisness developing real estate and investing in ventures from his home in Gainesville, Florida. In his leisure, he enjoys travel and adventure as well as driving. He holds the Transamerica Road Race Record in the Cannonball-Baker Memorial Dash.
