Kevin Wright was born in Mesa, Arizona where his father worked in the copper mines. His parents were originally from West Virginia. He is married to Edie Wright and between them they have three children, Nicole, Josh and Kim. They also have two grandchildren. Kevin graduated from Marshall University after spending 20 years in the Air Force. He retired as a tech sergeant in 1995. His degree was in park management and conservation and graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude). He has worked Grayson Lake and for the Corps of Engineers as a summer hire in West Virginia. He is currently employed at Carr Creek where he was recently awarded the National Chief of Engineer 2005 Natural Resources Management Recreation Employee of the Year award. Lt. General Carl A Struck, a three-star general and commander of the Corps of Engineers, presented it to him. General Strock is currently in charge of the relief efforts in the aftermath of Katrina. Kevin and his wife were flown to the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Dallas, Texas to receive the award on Aug 8-12, 2005. Kevin entered the camp on Corporal William A.
